Economic Press Release No. 1 INDIA CARPET EXPO, 23 - 26 February, 2010, New Delhi and EXHIBITION-CUM-BUYER SELLER MEET, 27 - 28 February, 2010 at Jaipur. The Carpet Export Promotion Council (CEPC), Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is organizing the 16th India Carpet Expo from 23-26 February, 2010 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi and an Exhibition-cum-Buyer-seller Meet, from 27-28 February, 2010 at Jaipur. India Carpet Expo expects a large number of visitors from overseas carpet buyers from around the world. At the Expo, Indian manufacturers and exporters from Bhadohi-Mirzapur, Srinagar, Panipat, Jaipur, Agra etc. will show case the range and variety of traditional oriental carpets and rugs – from antique to modern, the innovative to contemporary designs including the prized home made carpets. The Expo shall provide a single window for Canadian carpet importers, exporters and buyers – both wholesalers and retailers – a one stop shop for all their needs. CEPC is extending ‘an attractive package of privileges’ to ‘selected-buyers’ from Canada. Ø The Buyers will be provided complimentary Hotel accommodation for 2 nights at New Delhi (room rent including breakfast only) This package is valid for selected buyers limited to one person per company. All those Canadian buyers (retailers / wholesalers) desirous of visiting the Expo are requested to get themselves registered with the Council by sending their ‘Registration form duly filled in before 15 January, 2010. The buyers can also submit their registration on-line through council’s website, www.indiancarpets.com. CEPC will decide and communicate directly to the ‘selected’ Canadian buyers.
