Death of all Indian nationals should be registered with the Consulate by submitting the prescribed application on prescribed form together with the death certificate, passport of the deceased and a fee of C$ 32.00 payable to the Consulate General of India by a bank draft or money order or a certified cheque.
Requirements for transportation of dead body to India
- Registration of Death with the Consulate (in case of Indian nationals only).
- Death Certificate in original and a copy thereof
- Burial permit/cremation permit.
- Letter from Public Health Office certifying No Communicable disease.
- Embalming Certificate, Coroners out of Province Certificate, Name, address, telephone number, etc. of the consignee.
- Flight details.
- Fee for sealing of the body, etc. C$ 195.00 payable to the Consulate General of India, Toronto.
Requirements for transportation of ashes to India
- Registration of Death with the Consulate (in case of Indian nationals only).
- Death Certificate in original and a copy thereof.
- Cremation certificate.
