OCI APPLICANTS WHO SUBMITTED THEIR APPLICATIONS WITH VFS TILL 28 FEBRUARY 2013 ARE ADVISED TO CHECK THE STATUS OF THEIR APPLICATIONS ON LINE. IF IT CONFIRMS THAT THE DOCUMENTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED IN TORONTO THEN PLEASE VISIT THE CONSULATE BETWEEN 3 TO 4 PM ON ANY WORKING DAY FOR COLLECTING THE OCI DOCUMENTS. PLEASE BRING YOUR PASSPORT AND ALL OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ENLISTED ON THE WEBSITE.
OCI applications should be submitted, in person, at Indian Visa & Consular Services Centers managed by BLS (Canada) Inc.
Postal applications can be posted/couriered ONLY to BLS centre at 10, Gillingham Drive, Unit 201, Brampton, ON, L6X5A5.
Applicant(s) should ensure that all documents mentioned in the “Check-List for OCI Registration” are brought in original along with the OCI application.
For travel to India both documents, i.e. OCI certificate along with the passport containing the U-Visa sticker must be carried otherwise ENTRY into India will NOT be allowed.
Up to the completion of 20 years of age and once after completion of 50 years of age, it is MANDATORY that OCI Registration Certificate & U-Visa are re-issued each time a new passport is issued. Otherwise ENTRY into India may NOT be allowed.
However, between 21-50 years of age, re-issuance is not mandatory. In such cases, one must travel to India with OCI Registration Certificate, old Canadian Passport having U-visa and new Canadian Passport.
For collection of OCI, applicants are required to submit the following documents at any Indian Visa and Consular BLS Services Centers
from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm:
- Acknowledgement Slip
- Canadian Passport(s)
- PIO Card (if any)
- OCI Registration Certificate (in case of OCI transfer)
- Printout of Online Status confirming the date of receipt of OCI documents in Toronto
