Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI)

Applicant(s) should ensure that all documents mentioned in the “Check-List for OCI Registration” are brought in original along with the OCI application.

IMPORTANT NOTE

For travel to India both documents, i.e. OCI certificate along with the passport containing the U-Visa sticker should be carried otherwise entry into India will not be allowed. In case of minors [up to the completion of the age of 20 years] the U-Visa sticker has to be pasted on their current passport

 

For collection of OCI – Those applicants who have submitted their applications either at the Consulate or with M/s VFS(Canada) Inc., are required to deposit original documents [Acknowledgement Slip, Canadian Passport(s), along with PIO Card, if any, and in case of transfer / re-issue of OCIs - old OCI Certificate and old Canadian Passport] and printout of Online Status confirming the date of receipt of OCI documents in Toronto, at any Indian Visa and Consular Services Centers during their submission hours, i.e. 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.  after the online status indicates the date of receipt of OCI in Toronto.  Kindly note that issue of OCI Certificate etc. by the Consulate will take about 5-7 business days. 

 

OCI applications by post / courier should henceforth be sent to Indian Visa & Consular Services Centres managed by VFS Services (Canada) Toronto Office at Unit 102, 939 Eglinton Avenue East , Toronto , Ontario M4G 4E8 .
