Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) card Procedure
Its validity is for 15 years and entitles the holder to visa free entry to India in association with a valid foreign nationality passport, investment facilities, education, etc.

Requirements:

  1. Duly filled in application form.
  2. Cancelled/expired Indian passport of the applicant  photocopy of the relevant pages and the Landing paper and PR card along with photocopy.
  3. If the applicant is applying for PIO card on the basis of his/her parents or spouse's Indian origin please attach original passport and landing paper, marriage certificate (in case of spousal base) with the application.
  4. Canadian passport of the applicant (which should be valid for minimum 6 months) and photocopy. Applications for children born to Indian parents in Canada must be accompanied by
    (i) the child's Canadian passport,
    (ii) original birth certificate mentioning the names of the parents and
    (iii) Both parent's Indian passports and PR Cards and Landing Papers and a copy of all these documents
  5. Citizenship Certificate and Citizenship Card.
  6. Four photographs ( against a light background showing full frontal view of the face; approximate size (35mm x 35mm)
  7. Fee C$ 330/- for adults; C$ 165/- for those under 18 years payable to Consulate General of India, Toronto by Bank draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque.
