New Passport is required when the old passport has completed its validity from the date of issue or where a new booklet is necessitated on account of change in basic particulars like name, appearance, seeking amendment in date of birth etc. or when all the pages have been used.
Requirements
- Duly filled in Passport application form. Please ensure that two specimen signatures are affixed in the space provided.
- Existing passport along with photocopies of first five pages and last page.
- Four photographs Black & White or Colour against a light background showing full frontal view of the face (size 35mm x 35mm) .

Original PR Card with a photocopy (both sides). Where applicant is not a PR, current immigration documents (e.g. student ID, Work permit etc.) with a photocopy thereof is to be submitted. If the applicant is a student, details of educational institution, along with period of study is required. In case of work permit holder details of employer and period of employment is required .
- Fee $ 65/-. (for a 36-page booklet)
Fee $ 85/-. (for a 60-page booklet)
payable to Consulate General of India, Toronto by
Bank draft/Money Order/Certified Cheque.
- Personal appearance before Consular officer required in case of change in appearance.

If the passport has expired for more than six months, an explanation as to why the passport has not been renewed should accompany the application. If the passport has expired for more than one year, the applicant should also submit a separate letter/Search Letter from the Canadian authorities that they have not acquired Canadian citizenship.

In case of emergency, passport can be issued within 3 days on payment of Tatkaal Fees of C$ 149/- in addition to the passport fees. Such emergency passport (Tatkaal) are issued at the Consulate and fees is payable to the Consulate General of India, Toronto.
