If the applicant(s) or their parents or grand parents have held Pakistani citizenship, a different procedure will be applicable.  Applicant falling in this category may please note that visa granted to them shall be single entry for a short term.

Procedure for the applicants holding Pakistani nationality/Pakistani passport

For applying, like all other visa applicants, please visit the link http://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/ and submit the Visa Application Form online.  While filling the form, please give the name and address of the Indian Sponsor.  Please click on the link
http://www.india.org.pk/Sponsor%20Certificate.pdf to see the Sponsorship Certificate.  The sponsor in India would have to download this Sponsorship Certificate and get it duly attested by one of the Indian authorities as mentioned in the Sponsorship Certificate.  It should then be sent by fax/e-mail or post by the Sponsor in India to the applicant. The details contained in the Sponsorship Form will be used by the applicant to complete the online Visa Application Form.  A copy of the Sponsorship Certificate should be attached with the Visa Application for submission to the Consulate General of India, Toronto.

After filling the online Visa Application Form, save it and take a print out.  This Application Form will have to be submitted directly to the Consulate General of India, Toronto office along with a copy of the Sponsorship Certificate as mentioned above.

The processing of visa applications for such cases takes a minimum of 6 weeks.

Procedure for the applicants of Pakistani origin holding Canadian nationality/Canadian Passport only

If the applicants have held Pakistani nationality in the past, or their parents or grand parents have ever held Pakistani nationality, the same procedure as outlined above will be applicable, except that no Sponsorship Certificate is required in such cases.  The applicants who no longer hold Pakistani nationality and Pakistani passport may apply for a visa on their Canadian passport, but would have to submit a certified copy of the surrender certificate stating that they have renounced their Pakistani citizenship along with an affidavit duly notarized stating therein that they no longer hold Pakistani citizenship and Pakistani Passport.    

The processing of visa applications for such cases takes a minimum of 6 weeks
