Consulate General of India Toronto in collaboration with Ministry of International Trade, Government of Ontario and Electronics & Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC) organized a presentation and discussion session on "Globalsoft" on 06 November 2017 at Ontario Centre for Trade and Commerce, Toronto.

Mr. Akhil Tyagi, Director (Asia), Ministry of International Trade, Government of Ontario welcomed the guests and introduced the representatives of the Council. In his remarks,  Consul General Dinesh Bhatia mentioned about the need to exploit the potential that exists in the IT sector between Canada and India as the volume of trade between these two countries in this sector remains abysmally low compared to the volume of trade with USA and urged the representatives of the IT companies present in the gathering to disseminate the information about the GLOBALSOFT 2018 being organised on 24-25 January in Bangalore and participate as an Exhibitor to explore and tap the limitless opportunities in India.

In their presentation Mr. Nalin Kohli, Chairman, Indiasoft – Globalsoft Committee and Past Chairman Electronics and Software Export Promotion Council and Mr. D.K. Sareen, Executive Director of ESC spoke about the IT opportunities in India and that India has the world's third largest start-up eco-system. Programs like Digital India, Start-up India, Skill India, Smart City launched by the Government of India offer enormous business opportunities for the Global Technology Companies.

GLOBALSOFT 2018 is being organised on 24-25January 2018 in Bangalore, Silicon Valley of India as a one-stop point for IT industry from across the globe. It is a stand-apart business opportunity for interacting, strategic networking and cementing business alliances in India. It would give an opportunity to connect with Key Government Officials in several important Indian States for various Projects including e-Governance, Cyber Security, Smart Cities, Energy, Defense and Homeland Security etc. It would foster Strategic Alliances, Joint Ventures, Marketing tie-ups, Re-sellers for the products and services.

The event was attended by about 20 IT companies from Toronto.
